football recruiting

1/26/10 - Richland, WA

College Football signing day is approaching on February 2nd and a handful of local athletes are going thru the process of evaluating their best college choices.

Wenatchee's Alec Martin a 6'4" OL/DL will be signing with Air Force. Martin is indeed a "force" on the football field. A basketball player up until this year Martin's quickness, strength and hands should translate very well to the D1 ranks. Air Force competes in the Mountain West Conference along with BYU, Utah, and TCU. We look forward to seeing Martin compete on Saturday's.

Chiawana's Nick Vincent hails from a long line of Pasco Football standouts. This Vincent sports the Riverhawk blue and made opponents feel blue with his play at lineman in Chiawana's counter-run attack. Nick's true position is most likely on the defensive side of the ball. An All-State Selection at Linebacker Vincent will choose between Central Washington, Portland State, or Carroll College in Montana.

Jake McKinney of Richland HS, will sign a letter of intent to play Running Back at Carroll College in Helena Montana. Carroll a NAIA school recently won their 6th National Title in 10 years. The Saints definitely got a steal in McKinney who also drew interest from West Point, Brown, Portland State, and Montana to name a few.

Drew Loftus (video) of the Kennewick Lions has impressed ever since taking on vaunted Skyline recruit and UW-bound Kasen Williams his freshman year. Loftus, also a standout Baseball prospect has 2 offers for Football in-hand; one from New Mexico State and one from Central Washington. He lists UW, Hawaii, Boise State, and Eastern Washington as potential programs he could land. Loftus was a All-State 1st Team All-Purpose selection.

Tim White (video) (Kamiakin HS), one of the most exciting players in the history of the Big 9 is likely headed to Central Washington after drawing interest from Eastern Washington and Washington State. White, an All State selection at WR and DB is sure to electrify at the next level.

Other Big Nine talent looking to play football at the next level are Brandon Search and Devaunte Lamb (Pasco), Chiawana's Luc Graff and Brett Adamson, Dallin Palmer and Austin Brinkworth (Southridge) Joey White and Joel Teats (Richland), Jacob Saluione, Nolan Hael, and Ryan Pierce (Eastmont).
