Bracket Busters Leave Road Wide-Open for Zags The Zags escape Thursday's opening game with a 64-58 win over the 16th seeded Southern Jaguars.  The Zags and Jags were tied at 58 before sophomore guard Kevin Pangos buried a three point bucket to help propel Gonzaga to the win, and avoid being the first number 1 seed to be ousted from the tournament in the first game.  After some positive results in the tournament on Friday, Gonzaga's road to the Final Four has been broken wide open.  The 5 seed in Gonzaga's region, the Wisconsin Badgers who were smoking hot coming into tournament play, lost to the 12 seed Ole Miss 57-46.  The following game saw the 4th seeded Kansas State Wildcats lose to the 13 seeded Lasalle Explorers 63-61.  So if the Zags can beat the 9th seeded Wichita State Shockers, they will also have a favorable matchup in the sweet 16. The Zags take their first ever number seed into Salt Lake City Thursday afternoon at 1:15 as they take on the Southern University Jaguars.  The Zags have history on their side as the sixteen seeded team has never won a game against the one seed in the NCAA tournament in 112 attempts.
