FAQ
What is WSN all about?
WSN is all about sports, both High School, youth and club. We think that sports are a positive thing to be involved in and teaches many things that can prepare the youth of today to be the leaders and mentors of tomorrow. We hope to increase participation in athletics and showcase the achievements of local youth which in turn will strengthen community ties.
I see a bunch of stuff about the Big Nine what about my conference/school?
Our site launched in the spring of 2009. We are based in Richland, WA so our coverage has some Tri-Cities flavor to it. We are expanding our coverage all the time. We have covered events in Seattle, Federal Way, Spokane, Wenatchee, Walla-Walla, and Yakima to name a few. Let us know what school or conference you are interested in seeing and we will do our best to give them some love.
The site is not working for me?
This site is best viewed over a broadband connection (DSL, Cable, or higher) using the latest version of Firefox, IE, Safari, Chrome and more. We try to create our pages to work on the highest number of configurations but are sure to miss a few. If you have any problems let us know, we'll try our best to fix it. We are working on making our site more mobile friendly for all you iPhone and Droid junkies!
PHOTOS
The photos are not showing up?
Javascript and cookies must be enabled, and Adobe Flash 9 (or above) should be installed in all browsers.
I saw my son or daughter on your site and would like their photo taken down.
As a media organization some events are public domain, or we attain permission to photograph events from the local sanctioning body or school. However, if you don't want a photo or video up for ANY reason simply let us know and we will take it down as soon as possible.
VIDEO
The videos are choppy or do not display at all?
Your internet connection is probably not fast enough to keep up with the bit rate of video you are watching. You can select a lower bit rate from the player's menu section. If you are already on the lowest possible bit rate, please close all other running applications.
Why isn't any video showing up?
This usually means that you do not have the needed version of the Flash player installed on your computer. Please download the latest version, install it, restart your web browser and try it again.
Why is my video player stuck on "Buffering 0%"?
This happens when a video is not yet propagated to the Akamai Content Delivery Network. Please try again in a few minutes.
Why can I hear the audio but not see the video?
This occurs when the speed of your Internet connection is slower than the bit rate of the video clip you are watching and can be caused by either (a) your selection of a bit rate for the video clip that is too high for your Internet connection or (b) Internet traffic congestion reduces the speed of your connection below what it should be (for example, you have a high speed DSL or cable modem connection to the Internet, but due to Internet congestion or shared usage, the effective speed of your Internet connection is actually closer to a 56kbs dial-up connection).
